Add local honey to classic lemonade for a wonderful twist to an old favorite.
1/3 cup honey (1/2 if you like it a little less sweet)
1 1/2 cups hot water
1 cup fresh lemon juice
Ice cubes for serving
Prep Time: 10 minutes
- In a heatproof 1-quart pitcher or bowl, combine the honey and hot water and stir until the honey is dissolved.
- Stir in the lemon juice.
- Let cool for at least 10 minutes or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Pour into ice-filled glasses.
- A sprig of mint is optional – very refreshing, but don’t over do it!
What a delicious and refreshing summer drink! Let me know what you think – try it for dinner, lunch, a refreshing drink after working in the yard this weekend or for your team after the next game! Don’t get suckered into thinking you need to have sugar and honey – the honey is plenty sweet and won’t give you the sugar buzz like white sugar. Enjoy!
