Once we got our new dog home Laurie already had a name in mind… she knew before we even started on this particular adventure. His new name is Porter, Porter Rockwell, named after Orrin Porter Rockwell a friend and body guard of Joseph Smith and body guard to Brigham Young.
Although there are many variations on the history of Porter Rockwell I believe that he was a true friend and protector to the prophet Joseph Smith. There are some references to Porter Rockwell throughout church history.
In any event it’s a great name for this Pyrenees, and he’s taking to the name very well!
