Add local honey to classic lemonade for a wonderful twist to an old favorite.

Honey Lemonade

1/3 cup honey (1/2 if you like it a little less sweet)
1 1/2 cups hot water
1 cup fresh lemon juice
Ice cubes for serving

Prep Time: 10 minutes

  1. In a heatproof 1-quart pitcher or bowl, combine the honey and hot water and stir until the honey is dissolved.
  2. Stir in the lemon juice.
  3. Let cool for at least 10 minutes or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Pour into ice-filled glasses.
  5. A sprig of mint is optional – very refreshing, but don’t over do it!

What a delicious and refreshing summer drink!  Let me know what you think – try it for dinner, lunch, a refreshing drink after working in the yard this weekend or for your team after the next game!  Don’t get suckered into thinking you need to have sugar and honey – the honey is plenty sweet and won’t give you the sugar buzz like white sugar.  Enjoy!
